What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment in which tiny punctures in the skin using micro-fine needles triggers the body's wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production.  Additionally, once punctures are made, products applied topically such as Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C are able to penetrate deeper into the skin in order to work more effectively.  Microneedling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, stretch marks, skin texture, evens skin tones, reduces pore size, and also is used for hair restoration.  There is some pain associated with microneedling, but most describe it as being tolerable. After each treatment you will be placed under Red-Light Therapy lamp which is used to allow skin to recover and produce collagen by activating dermal fibroblasts - cells that generate connective tissue. Microneedling is typically done every 4-6 weeks. For collagen induction 3 treatments is recommended, depending on the extent of the damage. For scar reduction an average of 3 - 6 treatments depending on the extent of damage and the age of the scar. There is minimal downtime and you will be able to return to work almost immediately. Microneeding is safe on all skin types.
